Who can apply?
OEMs, MSPs, or systems integrators working with edge or connected hardware can apply - whether you’re in prototype, pilot, or early deployment stage - anywhere in the world.
Do I need to already have a working product?
You don’t need a finished product - we welcome early prototypes, pilots, or deployed units. The Design Audit adapts to your current stage.
Is there any cost to apply?
No - applying and receiving the Free Design Audit are completely free of charge.
Can multiple products or teams apply?
Yes, you can submit more than one product or deployment for consideration
What counts as ‘edge tech’?
We define edge tech as any connected hardware operating outside the data centre - routers, IoT gateways, telemetry nodes, remote sensors, etc.
When will I receive my Free Design Audit?
Audits will be delivered within 2–3 weeks of the application deadline.
How is the shortlist chosen?
The FLYNN team will shortlist companies whose technology, challenge, or market offers the most opportunity for design impact.
How will the winner be selected?
Winners are chosen based on design opportunity, market impact potential, and alignment with FLYNN’s expertise.
When will the winner be announced?
The winner of the £30K design sprint will be announced in March 2026 following the shortlisting process.
Will results be published?
We’ll only share public updates with your permission. All applications remain confidential. Your details are used solely for this initiative and will not be shared or reused.
What’s included in the £30k Sprint?
The Sprint covers full industrial design, CAD, materials research, prototyping, and testing support, delivered by FLYNN’s team.
How long does the Design Sprint last?
The Design Sprint takes around 6 weeks from kickoff to prototype delivery.
What happens after the Design Sprint?
You’ll keep the prototype and full design documentation, ready for field testing or manufacturing.
Will I keep ownership of my IP?
Yes, you retain full IP rights over your product and technology. FLYNN only designs enhancements and concepts with your approval.
Do I need to share confidential information?
We only need publicly shareable or non-sensitive material for the initial Design Audit. NDAs can be arranged for shortlisted participants.
